Support for UK Food Exporting?

Recent instructions indicate that businesses are carefully considering their options for international expansion.

There is increasing focus on international business opportunities, as some of our projects over the last year or so demonstrate:

  • Agribusiness marketing program evaluation – Vietnam
  • Foodservice channel U&A – China
  • Spirits marketing appraisal – global
  • Dairy powders study – Nigeria
  • Meat export study – Mexico
  • Ingredients market segmentation – Saudi Arabia
  • Seafood export study – Asia
  • Dairy ingredient study – Brazil
  • QSR market entry study – Taiwan and Australia
  • Ingredient opportunity assessment – global
  • Packaging evaluation for dairy product launch – China
  • Confectionery export appraisal – global

Developing international business is seldom easy, and we see this day to day on our projects for food/beverage/agribusiness clients.  Countries with serious intent to build exports in such categories fund generic export marketing in many guises.  It’s not perfect but it helps the SMEs and sometimes even the major players to expand their business.  With a few notable exceptions, UK manufacturers in these sectors get little government assistance in export marketing – as the country heads towards a serious economic own-goal, this area should be receiving serious priority.
